This specimen was lot 75054 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, October 2024), where it sold for $840. The catalog description[1] noted, "GERMANY. Lippe-Detmold. Taler, 1860-A. Berlin Mint. Paul Friedrich Emil Leopold III. NGC MS-62. A lovely Mint State exemplar, delivering appealing brilliance, with handsome eye appeal and sharp details throughout. A tremendous representative of this States issue." This thaler, issued 1860 and 1866, is the only thaler issued from this locale in the nineteenth century. It is, fortunately for collectors, not that expensive.
