Lippe-Detmold 1860-A groschen
This specimen was lot 5307 in Künker sale 386 (Osnabrück, March 2023), where it sold for €300 (about US$388 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"LIPPE, GRAFSCHAFT, SEIT 1789 FÜRSTENTUM, Paul Friedrich Emil Leopold, 1851-1875. Silbergroschen 1860. Prachtexemplar. Feine Patina, polierte Platte. (principality of Lippe, Paul Frederick Emil Leopold, 1851-75, silver groschen of 1860. Outstanding example, fine patina, proof.)"
This billon product of the Berlin mint accompanied a 2½ silber groschen (KM 266) and a thaler (Dav-725) struck the same year. The coinage for this tiny state ceased in 1866.
