Steve Album sale 51, lot 906

This specimen was lot 906 in Steve Album Auction 51 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "LIPPE-DETMOLD: Paul Alexander Leopold II, as independent Prince, 1820-1851, BI 2½ silber groschen, 1847-A, lightly toned, one-year type, PCGS graded MS64." Lippe-Detmold's army allegedly comprised the count, one colonel and one private. This type was struck at Berlin 1847 only but is fairly common.

Recorded mintage: 363,264.

Specifications: 3.24 g, 0.375 fine silver, plain edge.
