This specimen was lot 21135 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $2,350. The catalog description[1] noted, "LESOTHO. 10 Maloti, 1969. NGC PROOF-67 ULTRA CAMEO. F.A.O. issue with a mintage of only 3,000. A heavy gold coin with 1.1775 Troy ounces AGW, and without spots, tone or fog. Very impressive." The F.A.O. series was intended for circulating coinage; we don't know why gold was selected for this issue.

Recorded mintage: 3,000 proofs.

Specification: 39.94 g, 0.917 fine gold, 1.177 troy oz AGW.
