This specimen was lot 75364 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, November 2022), where it sold for $120. The catalog description[1] noted, "LESOTHO. 50 Licente, 1966. Moshoeshoe II. PCGS MS-68. A virtually flawless special issue with fully argent surfaces. To date PCGS has only certified a single example finer (MS-69 finest)." Varieties exist in the position and size of the fineness mark on the reverse.
Recorded mintage: 17,500 plus 5,000 proofs.
Specification: 28.10 g, 0.900 fine silver, 35 mm diameter.
