This specimen was lot 73110 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, June 2020), where it sold for $95. The catalog description[1] noted, "LEBANON. 25 Piastres, 1936. Paris Mint. NGC AU-55. Displaying just a hint of light wear, this steel gray example features an alluring light golden tone surrounding the devices." The area of Lebanon was taken from Ottoman control after World War I, and placed under French mandate along with Syria. It was declared the Etat du Gran Liban in 1920. This type was also struck in 1929 and 1933. The 0.680 fine alloy is similar to that used on French coins of the Thirties.
