Lebanon 1933 25 piastres
This specimen was lot 74489 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "LEBANON. 25 Piastres, 1933. Paris Mint. PCGS AU-58. This wonderful example of the key date of the series is exceptionally SCARCE in collector condition, as this example is in. Only one has even been graded mint state by either PCGS or NGC, making the present specimen a premium piece. Attractive argent surfaces give somewhat muted luster, which is unbroken by major marking and only slightly worn devices." This type was also struck in 1929 and 1936. This is the scarcest of the three dates.
