Stephen Album internet sale 28, lot 771

This specimen was lot 771 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "LAOS: People's Democratic Republic, AV 1000 kip, 2007, Rennes-Le-Chateau Treasure, PCGS graded PF70 Deep Cameo, ex Howard A. Daniel III Collection." This is one of a series of NCLT's made and sold to collectors. We don't know if any made it to Laos.

Wikipedia comments, "Rennes-le-Château is a commune approximately 5 km (3 miles) south of Couiza, in the Aude department in the Occitanie region in Southern France....It receives tens of thousands of visitors per year...[seek]ing a putative buried treasure discovered by its 19th-century priest Bérenger Saunière...."
