Laos 2008 500 kip Fr-29
This specimen was lot 776 in Stephen Album internet sale 28 (Santa Rosa, CA, July 2024), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "LAOS: People's Democratic Republic, AV 500 kip, 2008, Victory Monument of Patouxai, struck in 999 fine gold, PCGS graded PF69 Deep Cameo, ex Howard A. Daniel III Collection." This is one of a series of NCLT's made and sold to collectors. We don't know if any made it to Laos.
Wikipedia comments, "Patuxai (Lao: ປະຕູໄຊ, literally Victory Gate or Gate of Triumph, formerly the Anousavary or Anosavari Monument, known by the French as Monument Aux Morts) is a war monument in Downtown Vientiane, Laos, built between 1957 and 1968. The Patuxai was dedicated to those who fought in the struggle for independence from France."
