Kwangsi (Guangxi) Province is situated on the southern border, west of Hong Kong and bordering Vietnam. It constitutes the Guangxi Ahuang Autonomous Region, which holds special privledges for the indigenous Zhuang people. Mints operated at various times, with modern mints established in 1905 in two cities (Nanning and Kweilin).
The specimen shown was lot 21563 in Ponterio sale 165 (Hong Kong, April 2012), where it sold for $1314. The catalog description[1] noted, " Lot #21563. CHINA. Kwangsi. Cent, Year 8 (1919). PCGS MS-62 Secure Holder. 廣西。分,民國 8 年(1919 年)。Y-413a; CCC-564; Duan-2737. PCGS MS-62 Secure Holder."
