This specimen was lot 76409 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2025), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "KIRIBATI. 10 Dollars, 1998. PCGS PROOF-69 Deep Cameo. AGW: 0.0389 oz. Depicting the Birth of Christ." Kiribati, formerly the British colony of the Gilbert and Ellice Islands, is a group of coral islands in the Pacific. It was the scene of some of the fiercest battles of World War Two. Another ten dollar NCLT of 1998 featured the sinking of the Titanic (KM 27).
