This specimen was lot 3356 in Aureo y Calicó sale 422 (Barcelona, December 2023), where it sold for 34 € (about US$44 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "Kiribati. 1992. 20 dólares. Juegos Olímpicos - Barcelona '92. Vela. AG. Proof." Kiribati, formerly the British colony of the Gilbert and Ellice Islands, is a group of coral islands in the Pacific. It was the scene of some of the fiercest battles of World War Two. This NCLT was issued for the 1992 Olympics and featured sailing.
