This specimen was lot 20216 in Heritage sale 3010 (Boston, August 2010), where it sold for $4,025. The catalog description[1] noted, "Khevenhuller-Metsch. Prince Joseph Taler 1771AW, AU58 PCGS, a choice lustrous example with flashy prooflike surfaces and meticulously sharp details. One of the rarer Austrian States, and a most appealing coin with a mintage of 200." This, a closely related thaler (Dav-1188) and a ducat are the only issues from this state in the eighteenth century.
