Khevenhuller-Metsch 1761 thaler Dav-1188
This specimen was lot 1589 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €1,900 (about US$2,455 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"KHEVENHÜLLER-METSCH Johann Josef, 1742-1776. Konv.-Taler 1761, Wien. RR Sehr attraktives Exemplar mit herrlicher Patina, vorzüglich-Stempelglanz. (Germany, principality of Khevenhuller-Metsch, John Joseph, 1742-76, convention thaler of 1761, Vienna mint. Very attractive, toning, extremely fine to uncirculated.)"
This, a closely related thaler (Dav-1189) and a ducat (Fr-549) are the only issues from this prince in the eighteenth century.
