This specimen was lot 942 in Künker sale 293 (Osnabrück, Germany, July 2017), where it sold for €8,000 (about US$10,783 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"KEMPTEN, STADT, 1/2 Reichstaler 1623, mit Titel Ferdinands II. RR Attraktives, fast vorzügliches Exemplar. (Germany, city of Kempten, half thaler of 1623, struck in the name of Ferdinand II. Rare, attractive extremely fine example.)"
This one year type is rare and expensive. The city was annexed to Bavaria in 1803.
