This specimen was lot 33921 in Heritage sale 3106 (New York, January 2023), where it sold for $1,800. The catalog description[1] noted, "Japan: Showa gold Proof 100000 Yen Year 62 (1987) PR70 Ultra Cameo NGC. Struck to commemorate Emperor Hirohito's 60 years of rule. An utterly perfect specimen that one could expect no more from." This NCLT was also struck in 1986; 1987 is the scarcer date.
