Japan 1986 100000 yen
The first specimen was lot 35714 in Heritage sale 3038 (Dallas, January 2015), where it sold for $793.13. The catalog description[1] noted, "Showa gold 10000 Yen Year 61 (1986) UNC. Virtually flawless and housed in a mint sealed holder." The second specimen was lot 683 in Sincona sale 46 (Zürich, May 2018), where it sold for 1,000 CHF (about US$1,200 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,
"Japan, Hirohito, 1926-1989. 100000 Yen 1986-1987. 60. Regierungsjubiläum. FDC. (empire of Japan, Hirohito, 1926-89, 100,000 yen of 1986-87, on the sixtieth anniversary of his reign. Uncirculated.)"
We don't see this commemorative listed in the current edition of the SCWC. The data given below is taken from the 1993 edition.
