This specimen was lot 74477 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2022), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "JAMAICA. 50 Dollars, 1995. PCGS PROOF-69 Deep Cameo. Commemorating the 50th Anniversary of the Birth of Bob Marley. A wonderful piece stuck to honor the late Bob Marley, this beautiful issue displays a crisp strike and beautiful cameo effect with frosted devices and deep mirrorlike fields." Another 50 dollars struck in gold (KM 175) honored the wedding anniversary of the Queen Mother. Until the coming of Rihanna, Bob Marley was Jamaica's most marketable export.
