This specimen was lot 21199 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $780. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Jaipur. Mohur, Year 28 (1949). Man Singh II (AH 1341-69 (1922-49)). PCGS MS-63 Secure Holder. Well struck with clear definition of the characters. Lustrous, lightly toned and quite attractive." The SCWC lists this type for years 20 thru 28, with all dates expensive. As India obtained her independence in 1947 and Congress Party politicians acted swiftly to curtail the privileges of the princely rulers, this must be nearly the last provincial issue.
