This specimen was lot 22641 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $705. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. 50 Euro, 2005-R. PCGS PROOF-69 DEEP CAMEO. Piazza San Carlo. Mintage of 5,000. The only piece seen at PCGS. Struck for the 2006 Olympics. No spots, tone or fog. A real jewel." This NCLT is one of a series issued 2005-06 for the Olympic Games.

Recorded mintage: 6,000.

Specification: 16.13 g, 0.900 fine gold, 28 mm diameter, reeded edge.
