This specimen was lot 22642 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $282. The catalog description[1] noted, "ITALY. 20 Euro, 2005-R. PCGS PROOF-69 DEEP CAMEO. Palazzo Madama. Struck for the 2006 Olympic games. Tied for finest graded with two other pieces at PCGS." This NCLT is one of a series issued 2005-06 for the Olympic Games. This type was struck to the standard of an old twenty lire d'oro of the monarchy.

Recorded mintage: 10,000.

Specification: 6.45 g, 0.900 fine gold, 21 mm diameter, reeded edge.
