Kingdom of Italy in 1806, from Putzger's Atlas

This specimen was lot 1673 in Jean Elsen sale 151 (Brussels, June 2022), where it sold for €360 (about US$450 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

" ITALIE, Royaume, Napoléon Ier (1804-1814), AR 2 lire, 1811V (1 sur 0), Venise. Très Beau/Superbe. (kingdom of Italy, Napoleon, 1804-14, silver two lire of 1811, Venice mint, 1811/0 overdate. Very Fine/Extremely Fine.)"

This coin was struck in Venice for Napoleon's kingdom of Italy which lasted 1804-1814. The two lire piece matched the French two francs and was struck in some numbers 1807-14. It was also struck in Milan and Bologna.

Recorded mintage: 10,000.

Specification: 10 g, 0.900 fine silver.
