This specimen was lot 3592 in Goldberg sale 90 (Los Angeles, January 2016), where it sold for $387.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Israel. 1000 Lirot, 1978. For the 30th Anniversary of Independence. Text within tree. Choice Brilliant Proof." This is the only issue of this denomination tho it is safe to say that no gold coin of Israel actually circulated. It is accompanied by a silver fifty lirot (KM 92). Massive influx of aid from the United States fueled inflation and coinage reforms in 1960, 1980 and 1985.

Specification: 12 g, 0.900 fine gold, 0.3472 ounce AGW, 25 mm diameter.
