Israel 1973 200 lirot
This specimen was part of lot 3356 in Goldberg sale 85 (Los Angeles, June 2015), which sold for $1,657. The catalog description[1] noted, "Israel. 200, 100, 50 Lirot, 1973. KM-72-74. Total weight 1.3743 ounces. For the 25th Anniversary of Independence. Menorah and scroll. Lot of 3 coins. Choice Brilliant Proof." This is the first issue of this denomination tho it is safe to say that no gold coin of Israel actually circulated. It is accompanied by a silver ten lirot (KM 71), gold fifty lirot (KM 72) and gold hundred lirot (KM 73). Massive influx of aid from the United States fueled inflation and coinage reforms in 1960, 1980 and 1985.
