This specimen was lot 38888 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "ISRAEL. Mint Error -- Clamshell Lamination -- Lira, JE 5738 (1978). NGC MS-62." This type was struck at various mints 1967-80 and all dates are common. This year was produced at Jerusalem and Winnipeg.

Recorded mintage: 61,752,000 plus 57,072 for collector sets (marked with a "✡").

Specification: 9 g, copper-nickel, 27.5 mm diameter, segmented reeded edge.
