Ireland 1974 10 pence
This specimen was lot 23091 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRELAND. 10 Pence, 1974. Dublin Mint. PCGS SPECIMEN-63 Gold Shield. Almost never seen as a presentation issue. A few fingerprint remnants in the reverse fields dictate the grade." This type was struck 1969-86 as part of the decimalization of the Irish pound. The module matched that of the old florin. The size was reduced in 1993. Ireland adopted the euro in 2002 and all this coinage is obsolete. There is no Dublin mint; this coin was most likely made at the British Royal Mint.
