This specimen was lot 1271 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $1,200. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN: Islamic Republic, AV azadi, SH1364, second issue, with the obverse phrase bihar-e azadi ("spring of freedom"); sealed in a folder by the Kashani Company, BU." This type was struck SH 1364-70 for the ayatollahs. Gold quarter, half, 2½ and five azadis also exist. The coins generally trade as bullion coins.
