This specimen was lot 1278 in Steve Album Auction 55 (Santa Rosa, CA, May 2026), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN: Islamic Republic, AV 1/4 azadi, SH1366, first issue, with the shorter legend bihar-e azadi, BU." This type was struck SH 1364-70 for the ayatollahs. Gold half, one, 2½ and five azadis also exist. The coins generally trade as bullion coins.
