Iran SH1363 azadi

from the Stack's Bowers 2018 Collector's Choice sale, lot 71090

This specimen was lot 71090 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Santa Ana, CA, May 2018), where it sold for $312. The catalog description^[1] noted, "IRAN. Azadi, SH1363 (1984). NGC MS-64. Good strike with soft satin luster." This type, struck SH 1363 only, was minted to the standard of a British sovereign. Gold quarter, half, 2½ and five azadis also exist. The coins generally trade as bullion coins.
