This specimen was lot 75089 in Stack's Bowers May 2026 World Premier Collectors Choice Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2026), where it sold for $854. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. 1/2 Pahlavi, SH 1325 (1946). Tehran Mint. Muhammad Reza Pahlavi. PCGS MS-64." This type was struck SH 1324-1330 and is common. Two of these have the same amount of gold as the British sovereign. Gold quarter (Fr-104), one (Fr-101), 2½ (Fr-100), five (Fr-99) and ten pahlavis also exist. As the pahlavi was always sold at its gold price, it had no fixed ratio to the rial. The relief was lowered in 1951 to reduce persistent striking weakness.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 4.06 g, 0.900 fine gold, 19.5 mm diameter, 0.1177 troy oz AGW.

Catalog reference: Fr-102; KM-1149.
