Sincona sale 85, lot 1036

This specimen was lot 1036 in Sincona sale 85 (Zürich, October 2023), where it sold for 650 CHF (about US$875 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"IRAN, Nasir al-Din Shah, 1264-1313 AH (1848-1896). 1/2 Toman 1310 AH (1892 AD), Tehran Mint. Bust type. Rare. NGC MS62. From the Kian collection, auction SINCONA 49, October 2018, lot 15."

This tiny gold coin was struck AH 1297-1307 and 1313; this denomination was also struck in silver.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: 1.43 g, 0.900 fine gold, this specimen 1.40 g.
