Stack's Bowers September 2024 Collector's Choice sale, lot 76535

This specimen was lot 76535 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $288. The catalog description[1] noted, "IRAN. Qajar Dynasty. 1/2 Toman, AH 1312 (1894/95). Tehran Mint. Nasir al-Din Shah. NGC AU-58. Lightly lustrous, with only the lightest instances of handling across the surfaces." This type is listed for AH 1297-1307 and 1313; AH 1312 is not listed. The date is written "۱۳۲۱" (1903 AD), well after Nasir's assassination, so the auctioneers have interpreted it as "۱۳۱۲".
