Indore VS1788 silver mudra

from the Stack's Bowers 2019 ANA sale, lot 23049

Indore (spelled Indur on the map) in 1879

This specimen was lot 23049 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Chicago, August 2019), where it did not sell. The catalog description^[1] noted, "INDIA. Indore. Silver Mudra, SE 1788 (1866). PCGS AU-50 Gold Shield. VERY SCARCE. Good Strike with fine detail on the sunface. Surfaces exhibit gray toning with flecks of charcoal throughout. Attractive with nice underlying soft satin luster." This one year type is scarce in nice condition. The mudra was also struck in copper (KM 11.1).
