This specimen was lot 2793 in Stephen Album sale 38 (Santa Rosa, CA, September 2020), where it sold for $53.55. The catalog description[1] noted, "BRITISH INDIA: George VI, 1936-1947, AE ¼ anna, 1940(b), first head, high relief variety, NGC graded MS64 RD, Sanjay C. Gandhi Collection." The SCWC notes that the introduction of the second head in low relief marked a reduction in weight to 4.60 g. The first head was used 1938-40, the second head was used 1940-42. In 1942, the denomination was terminated.
