This specimen was lot 56557 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Pittsburgh, PA, August 2023), where it sold for $144. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. Rupee, 1917-(B). Bombay Mint. George V. NGC MS-64." The rupees of George V were struck 1912-22 and 1935-36 and most dates are common. Proofs are rare.
Recorded mintage: 151,583,000 plus proofs and restrikes, a common date.
Specification: 11.66 g, 0.917 fine silver, 30.6 mm diameter, .343 troy oz ASW.
