This specimen was lot 73698 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $168. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. 1/4 Anna, 1884-(B). Bombay Mint. Victoria. NGC MS-62 Brown. Delivering rich luster and strong details, this charming piece is certain to capture much attention." This type was struck at Calcutta 1877-1901 and at Bombay 1877-89 and is common.

Recorded mintage: 16,845,000 plus 43,196,000 from Calcutta.
