This specimen was lot 75088 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, September 2024), where it sold for $65. The catalog description[1] noted, "INDIA. 1/4 Anna, 1883-(B). Bombay Mint. Victoria. NGC AU-58. Only limitedly handled, this appealing example has nice retained details and a handsome woodgrain appearance." This type was struck fairly steadily 1877-1901 but the Bombay mint contributed 1877, 1882-89 only.
Recorded mintage: 12,443,000, a common date.
