This specimen was lot 3750 in Sincona sale 83 (Zürich, May 2023), where it sold for 500 CHF (about US$669 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "UNGARN, Volksrepublik 1949-1989. 100 Forint 1961, Budapest. 80. Geburtstag von Bela Bartok. Selten. Nur 2'500 Exemplare geprägt. FDC (people's republic of Hungary, 1949-89, one hundred forint of 1961, Budapest mint, eightieth birthday of Bela Bartok. Rare. Only 2,500 pieces struck, Uncirculated)." This commemorative was struck in several denominations.
