This specimen was lot 73596 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $60. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY. 20 Fils Restrike, 1944-BP. Nicolas Horthy. PCGS PROOF-67. A charming Superb-Gem proof, this wholesome piece yields a supremely reflective surfaces, and essentially no evidence of technical faults." Hungary joined the Axis during World War Two and was rewarded with defeat, devastation and Russian occupation. This type was struck 1941-44. It was issued under the authority of Miklos Horthy, dictator of Hungary 1920-44 and ally of Hitler and Mussolini. He was forced out of power by the Nazis in 1944 for failing to deliver enough Jews to the Holocaust but survived the war.
