Stack's Bowers February 2023 Collector's Choice sale, lot 73593

This specimen was lot 73593 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, February 2023), where it sold for $336. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY. 10 Korona, 1910-KB. Kremnica Mint. Franz Joseph I. NGC AU-58. A nearly uncirculated example, this wonderful piece displays strong details and limited evidence of handling throughout." This type, issued 1892-1915, superseded the four forint and was about 5% heavier. Many dates of the ten korona are scarce but this one is common. This example realized less than one-fifth of the catalog value.

Recorded mintage: 1,362,000.
