Hungary 1900-KB filler
This specimen was lot 38528 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2025), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY. Filler, 1900-KB. Kremnica Mint. Franz Joseph I. PCGS MS-62 Brown." This specimen was offered again as lot 75214 in Stack's Bowers Collectors Choice Online Auction (Costa Mesa, CA, May 2025), where it did not sell. This type was struck in moderate numbers 1892-1903, 1906 and 1914 and accompanied a similar two fillér. There are rare dates in the series but this one is common. The fillér was also used as the subdivision of the pengo (after World War One) and the forint (after World War Two) but no longer circulates because of inflation.
Recorded mintage: 10,641,000.
Specification: 1.67 g, bronze, 17 mm diameter.
