This specimen was lot 71603 in Stack's Bowers Collector's Choice sale (Costa Mesa, CA, June 2021), where it sold for $312. The catalog description[1] noted, "HUNGARY. Filler, 1892-KB. Kremnica Mint. Franz Joseph I. NGC MS-65 Brown. A stunning and well struck Gem example. Mostly cobalt blue in color with some underlying original mint red luster." This type was issued for Hungary in 1892-1906 and 1914 from the Kremnitz (Komoczbanya in Magyar) mint during the reign of Emperor Francis Joseph of Austria-Hungary. After the reorganization of the Hapsburg empire into the Dual Monarchy in 1867, Hungary received her own coinage separate from Austrian issues. In the aftermath of World War One, the Hapsburg monarchy collapsed and Hungary became independent but without its former territories in Slovakia, Transylvania and Croatia. The fillér was also used as the subdivision of the pengo (after World War One) and the forint (after World War Two) but no longer circulates because of inflation. The mintage given below comprises mostly 1893.

Recorded mintage: 8,152,507 + proofs for 1892-93.

Specification: bronze, 1.67 g, 17 mm diameter.
