Hungary 1771-K thaler Dav-1133
This specimen was lot 3306 in Sincona Auction 101 (Zürich, October 2025), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$302 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"RDR / ÖSTERREICH Maria Theresia, 1740-1780. Taler 1771, Kremnitz. Gutes sehr schön. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, thaler of 1771, Kremnitz mint. Good Very Fine.)"
This type was struck for Hungary 1767-76 and features the Kremnitz mintmark as "K" rather than the usual "KB". Variations on this type (KM 386.2, KM 388, KM 395.1, KM 395.2, KM 400.1 and KM 400.2) were struck until 1790. Those struck after 1780 changed the ruler from "M·THER·" to "IOS·II·".
