Hungary 1772-K thaler Dav-1133
This specimen was lot 1600 in Sincona sale 63 (Zürich, June 2020), where it sold for 200 CHF (about US$251 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HOLY ROMAN EMPIRE - AUSTRIA, Maria Theresia, 1740-1780. Taler 1772 K, Kremnitz. Fast vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Maria Theresia, 1740-80, thaler of 1772, Kremnitz mint. About extremely fine.)"
This type was struck at the Kremnitz mint for Hungary 1767-76. Variations on this type (KM 386.2, KM 388, KM 395.1, KM 395.2, KM 400.1 and KM 400.2) were struck until 1790. Those struck after 1780 changed the ruler from "M·THER·" to "IOS·II·".
