This specimen was lot 2107 in Jean Elsen sale 160 (Brussels, November 2024), where it sold for €550 (about US$696 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"SAINT EMPIRE, Léopold Ier (1657-1705), AR Taler, 1697 KB, Kremnitz. Type hongrois. D/ B. l., dr. et cuir. à d. R/ Aigle impériale couronnée, l'écu de Hongrie-Bohême sur la poitrine. Flan large. Petites taches au revers. Très Beau à Superbe. (Holy Roman Empire, Leopold I, 1657-1705, silver thaler of 1697, Kremnitz mint, Hungarian type. Obverse: laureate, draped and armored bust right; reverse: crowned imperial eagle supporting the arms of Hungary and Bohemia. Large planchet, small stains on the reverse, very fine to extremely fine.)"

This type, struck 1681-1700 in many varieties (Dav-3260, -3261, -3262, -3262A, -3262B, -3263, -3263A, -3264, -3265), is common. This variety, struck 1695-99, is listed as one of the more common thalers of the period. Hungary in 1697 had been freshly reconquered by the Austrians from the Turks but was not part of the Empire.
