This specimen was lot 31131 in Heritage sale 3064 (Chicago, April 2018), where it sold for $6,600. The catalog description[1] noted, "Leopold I Taler 1663-KB MS63 NGC, Kremnitz mint. Sharply detailed with shimmering luster that results from flan undulations caused by roller-die striking. Upon close inspection, a meandering lintmark is seen on the obverse and winds its way through a portion of Leopold's bust, across the nearby scroll legends and finally into the outer dentilation. From the Jamestown Collection." This rare type was struck 1662-63 along with Dav-3256, which had a different mantle over the armor.
