Sincona sale 11, lot 3473

This specimen was lot 3473 in Sincona sale 11 (Zürich, May 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,

"UNGARN Ferdinand III. 1637-1657. Taler 1658, Kremnitz. Posthume Prägung. Kl. Hksp. Fast vorzüglich. (Hungary, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, thaler of 1658, Kremnitz mint, posthumous issue. Mount mark, Good extremely fine.)"

Hungary in 1658 was partitioned between the Austrians and the Turks and was not part of the Empire. This type was struck 1637-61 and is noted as common.
