Hungary 1647-KB ducat Fr-109
This specimen was lot 1394 in Künker Auction 425 (Osnabrück, July 2025), where it sold for €14,000 (about US$19,824 including buyers' fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"HABSBURGISCHE ERBLANDE-ÖSTERREICH · RÖMISCH-DEUTSCHES REICH, Ferdinand III., 1625-1637-1657. Dukat 1647, KB, Kremnitz. GOLD. Vorzüglich. (Holy Roman Empire, Ferdinand III, 1637-57, ducat of 1647, Kremnitz mint. Extremely fine.)"
This type was struck at Kremnitz 1638-59 and is the most common ducat for this ruler but is about half again as expensive as the ducats of his successor Leopold I. A double ducat was also struck. During Ferdinand's reign, most of Hungary was still ruled by the Turks.
