Sincona sale 43, lot 2617

This specimen was lot 2617 in Sincona sale 43 (Zürich, October 2017), where it sold for 600 CHF (about US$716 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,

"Osterreich, Ferdinand II. 1618-1637 Taler 1633. Nagybanya. Sehr schön. NGC XF45. (kingdom of Hungary, Ferdinand I, 1618-37, thaler of 1633, Nagybanya amint. Very fine.)"

This type was struck in Hungary 1630-35. It is considerably scarcer than the contemporary Kremnitz product (Dav-3129).
