This specimen was lot 29858 in Heritage sale 3037 (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $2,585. The catalog description[1] noted, "Wladislaw II gold Goldgulden ND (1490-1516) MS62 NGC, Kremnitz mint. Attractive, with harvest-gold tone and strong luster residing within the protected areas. The surfaces are bright and nicely illuminate the well-rendered devices. A wonderful mint-state example of this early type that features the popular Madonna and child design." The Hungarian mint started dating ducats in 1503, so we presume that this type was minted earlier in Wladislaw's reign.
Recorded mintage: unknown.
Specification: 3.5 g, 0.986 fine gold, .109 troy oz ASW.
